Why does history matter? History has so much to teach us. As the famous quote by George Santayana states, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." Never has this been more true. In today's world we see the mistakes of the past coming forward in our time. We are naive to think that the outcome will be any different. History provides many cautionary tales that we would be wise not to ignore, but it is also full of amazing events of great triumph and discovery.
